Vintage Chicago Bears 1960s Standing Bear Felt Pennant

Some Bears logos growl. This one looks ready to take the field himself.

Dating to the 1960s, this classic Chicago Bears pennant features a wonderfully old-school standing bear rendered in orange against deep navy felt, paired with the sweeping script “Bears” lettering. It’s the kind of wonderfully simple graphic that instantly feels like another era of NFL football.

And what an era it was in Chicago. George Halas was still guiding the franchise, the Bears captured the 1963 NFL Championship, and the decade brought Chicago some of the greatest names in franchise history. Mike Ditka arrived in 1961, followed later in the decade by future Hall of Famers Dick Butkus and Gale Sayers, both drafted in 1965.

The standing-bear artwork, script lettering, sewn orange header and original ties give this one loads of mid-century character. No corporate redesign committee needed, just a bear, some felt and football.
